Our class is involved in a very fun and exciting
Geography project based on the book "Flat Stanley" which was written by Jeff
Brown. In the book, Stanley Lambchop is flattened by a falling bulletin
board. One of the advantages to being flat is that his parents can put him
in a large envelope and mail him for a visit to his friends in California.
Our project idea came from http://members.xoom.com/FlatStanley Students each
made a paper Flat Stanley who spent time with them before being sent to
friends, relatives, and famous people around the world. They recorded
information about their time with Stanley in a journal and look forward to
having Stanley and his journal returned to our school in May. Our class
hopes to hear about Stanley's travels and the communities he visits through
postcards, letters, and Email. So far Flat Stanley has visited these U.S. cities,
and also JAPAN (Okinawa), IRELAND, THAILAND, CZECH REPUBLIC and TOKYO!!
